 Documentation

This template categorizes an article as equipment and displays information about said equipment. This can be a weapon, a tool, an article of clothing, etc.

Infobox Parameters:

These parameters will be included in a table in the upper left-hand corner of your page for a quick summary of key attributes.

  • type - The category of equipment, such as "clothing", "weapon", "defense", or "repair".
  • purpose - The intended use of the equipment, likely as specified by its manufacturer or inventor.
  • tech - How advanced the technology behind the equipment is, in terms of current Earth technology.

Article Parameters:

These parameters will be organized under appropriate headings to form the main body of your body. All article parameters are optional, but intro, design, use, and goal are highly recommended.

Note: Don't forget to include any desired formatting for these parameters!

  • intro - Write a short description of the equipment, up to one paragraph long.
  • design - A more detailed description of the design or schematics of the equipment.
    • material - A list of the materials and technologies included in the equipment's design.
    • build - The process involved with manufacturing the equipment.
  • use - An explanation of how the equipment is operated.
  • goal - Description of the main purpose of the equipment, as well as any other common uses for it.
  • history - This can be the history of how the equipment was developed, or the personal history of one particular equipment.

Example of Usage:

Design

An Equipment is usually a piece of fabric that is much longer than it is wide. Depending on the construction and materials the Equipment may be colorful, monochrome, itchy, or comfy. Some versions have "tassels" on the shorter ends.

Materials

The most common materials used to make an Equipment are wool or polyester threads. Fur may also be used, and in rare cases an entire animal pelt may constitute the Equipment.

Construction

If using a single piece of fur or fabric, the only necessary step is to cut the fabric into the desired shape, usually an elongated rectangle. If made from threads, using a sewing kit to sew the thread into an elongated rectangle is done, often leaving threads unsewn on either end; these threads are known as "tassels".

Operation

An Equipment is usually worn as clothing, wrapped around the neck in such a way that it is propped up by the shoulders of the wearer and the friction of its own fabric against itself. Equipments may also be simply draped around the neck; this is commonly done for style rather than function.

Applications

While some Equipments may be worn for fashion, most are worn for warmth, providing a layer of protection for the otherwise exposed neck against the cold.

History

I don't know really, probably some neanderthal wrapped the fur of something he or she killed around the neck out of necessity. Maybe as time progressed and humans became more inclined to fanciness people started sewing them instead. That'd be my guess, at least.
